Dear Parents,
I can't believe that we are counting down the days until summer vacation! I truly don't know where the year has gone.
We have received letters from DOE for parents of student in grades 3 through 5 to enable you to access FCAT scores online. These letters contain individual user names and passwords. You may pick them up in the front office but the Parent Network site will not be up and running until the scores are released in June. Use this link to reach the Parent Network www.fcatparentnetwork.com There is also a FAQS flyer that may help answer some of your questions.
Kindergarten registration is underway! Students must be five years old on or before September 1st. You must provide proof of residency (in the form of an electric bill, lease or deed), birth certificate, immunization record, and a physical exam within a year of the beginning of school. You may pick up paper work from Mrs. Guerra at the front desk or click this link Kindergarten Registration Forms to go directly to the forms you need to register your Kindergartener. Registering your Kindergartener early is important so that we can better plan for teachers and materials.
Thank you for your past support of the Sailfest. However, PTA has decided to have a Field Day/Cook-Out this year for all our students to participate in. Please watch for more information to come home with your child.
My door is always open to assist you or your child in any way and I welcome your input and ideas. You can also contact me at olseng@martin.k12.fl.us I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Gail Olsen
Principal

BUS STOP SAFETY
We are asking you to be especially vigilant when sending your children to wait at the bus stop. Students need to be reminded to stay away from the road while waiting. There should be no horseplay or darting in the street. If there are no sidewalks in your neighborhood, suggest they walk on the grass. We, also, suggest that reflective patches/stripes be attached to their backpack or jacket. Perhaps parents in your neighborhood could volunteer to "man" the stop on a rotating basis to assure the safety of the children. Please join us in this concerted effort to keep our children safe while at the bus stops.
